Elementary/Junior High Teacher Wanted

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours (3:00pm - 7:00pm) and possibly Saturdays, 9:30am - 2:00pm.

Candidates must possess a strong background in spoken and written English and be comfortable teaching up to a Grade 9 level.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education:

• Enroled in a Bachelor’s degree program or higher, or similar certification in a relevant field

Experience:

• Some experience teaching/tutoring
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• French skills are an asset
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
• Be personable, empathetic, and reliable
• Demonstrate problem-solving ability and critical thinking
• Show a willingness to learn and grow
• Dynamic, energetic and outgoing personality - Learning has to be fun!

Responsibilities (Position Details)

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching in-person & online as needed
• Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post-lesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Job Type: Part-time

Salary Range: $18 - $20 / hour to start

Schedule:

• Evenings (3:00pm - 7:00pm)
• Monday to Thursday
• Saturday availability (9:30am - 2:00pm)
