20 to 30 hours/week (possibly more or less).

Required Skills:

— This job is for a “do”-er: Someone who has a powerful momentum on initiating and taking action. A self-starter who can also help client to initiate/start and complete tasks...and create habits. Good at managing time.

— Good and precise communication skills in English. Caregiver must have the ability to create an easy rapport with the client and be able to create an atmosphere where the client feels safe, at ease, and free of judgement.

— Good critical thinking, organizing, planning and problem solving skills with attention to fine detail. Caregiver will have to coordinate and prioritize many tasks and details throughout the day; and, is the one to make things happen with and without the client.

— Caregiver must also be heart-centred, gentle, and intuitive with above average mothering skills (as in guiding a small child—literally)…including patience...even for things or situations caregiver may not at first understand. Creativity and playfulness are a super asset.

— Ability to be physically active, in motion and work quickly doing various household tasks/care and personal tasks/care and projects in collaboration with client and independently.

Client was injured, including a brain injury, in a motorcycle accident while backpacking in SE Asia. Client is mobile. Focus is on health & healing—and doing.

You will be there to take the day to day living burdens off of the client, as well as take care of the small details of life; and then gradually and over time, once the rhythm is set, start including the client with you (as she is able) in tasks (incl. cooking) and projects.

$18 to $20/hour depending on experience and ability to do job (starting with 3 month trial period at $18/hour). 20 to 30 hours per week (possibly more or less). Will usually be a single block of time per day, can be split. Likely Monday to Friday/possibly Saturday (somewhat negotiable). Preferably starting in late morning or afternoon (also somewhat negotiable). Occasional flexible schedule for special appointments. Flexibility goes both ways for special circumstances if agreed to in advance.

Looking to hire two casual or part-time people with a fixed schedule. Different people can do different parts of the job that reflect their own unique skillset. For example, someone could come in for 3 or 4 hours in a day and someone else could come in later in the day for 3 or 4 hours; or someone could come in for a full day. Right now the schedule can be flexible until successful candidates are hired and the schedule is set.

Female caregiver for female client. Basic First Aid and CPR. Drivers License required. Experience in working with someone with cognitive disabilities is a super asset. Occupational Therapy, Nursing or Healthcare Aid background/training is also an asset. Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check dated within the last 6 months.

Experience (or interest) in Vegan/Whole Foods Plant Based cooking is a huge asset, as this type of cooking and food prep are required. Interest in natural health is also an asset.

Looking for a person who has a responsible outlook on life, with relatable life experience, is thoughtful, compassionate and willing to learn new things.

Client is horribly allergic to cigarette and other smoke, including the smell on clothes, skin and hair. Due to current health circumstances and severe reactions, client cannot be around vaccinated people for long periods of time or in close quarters.

This is a long term position. Job starts as soon as possible.
