Job Description

The Jost Mission Day Care Society operates two inclusive centres in Halifax, providing exceptional care to approximately 110 children between the ages of 5 months and 5 years. We are currently seeking six summer students to assist with program delivery during June through August. The persons selected for this position should be interested in becoming professionally prepared as a teacher of young children, or desire to work in a field that assists in the well-being of children. In addition this person must meet the requirements of NS Department of Education, Early Years Branch and have an aptitude for supporting the participation of children with special needs in a mainstream daycare environment. This person must also be a sensitive and mature individual able to relate well to both children and adults. Applicants must have a current and clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector search, current and clear child abuse registry check, emergency first aid with CPR C, and must be a full-time student returning to full-time studies in September.
