GFL Environmental is looking for a Mechanic to join our Saskatoon SK Team!

The Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining our fleet to operate at the highest level. The ideal candidate will be dependable, enthusiastic, organized, and capable of consistently performing to meet established standards and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostic work on a wide range of mobile and stationary equipment
• Complete repairs on all mechanical systems as required, including engines, transmissions, driveline, brake systems, hydraulic systems, etc.
• Ensure repaired equipment is properly tested for correct performance and operation
• Utilize excellent organizational skills in order to complete accurate, legible and descriptive documentation for all completed repairs
• Install or fabricate aftermarket equipment and components as assigned
• Participate in the GFL safety program and ensure compliance with all GFL and Fleet Maintenance safety standards, policies and procedures

Requirements

• Apprentice or Journeyman Certificate
• Experience with the SGI Motor Vehicle Inspection Program
• Class 5 Driver's License with a clean drivers abstract required, 1A or 3A Driver’s License preferred
• Strong Mechanical and troubleshooting abilities on a wide range of machinery and equipment
• Must possess own hand tools and storage toolbox (successful applicant will be eligible for an annual tool allowance following one year of service)
• Supervisory experience an asset
