Job purpose: Responsible for effective production execution and team member scheduling to optimize efficient operations as determined by our key metric, Daily Labour Cost (DLC). Will focus on continuous improvement, optimized production processes, and adequate staffing to deliver all PO’s on time and on budget.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. Manage a ensure a safe and organized production floor.
2. Plan and prioritize operations to ensure on time deliveries to our customers
3. Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum down time
4. Schedule shift according to production needs
5. Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
6. Obtain output information (number of finished products, deviation from plan, percentage of defectives etc.)
7. Responsible to create and update as needed, the plant workers schedule.
8. Ensure that the right number of people are scheduled so each shift is able to deliver the production plan without excess labour.
9. Review daily the production plan and the workers schedule and adjust accordingly.
10. Collaborate with the Supervisors to schedule the workers in the most efficient way, ensuring all the key positions in the plant are covered.
11. Send the workers schedule for the following week to the agencies every Thursday and post it for visibility.
12. Maintain continuous communication with our partner agencies and team members.
13. Create SOPs and SSOPs, Work Instructions, Manuals, as instructed by the Management
14. Create and Implement training programs as needed
15. Train the trainer to ensure all shift and department are covered with competent trainers
16. Ensure all required training is done and verified on time and all workers receive appropriate training.
17. Create, manage and update daily, weekly and monthly reports as required by the management.
18. Using continuous improvement, analyze, maintain, and improve organizational performance.
19. To take ownership of change initiatives from evolution/efficiency identification through to project delivery
20. To lead and facilitate LEAN/process improvement-based workshops to drive ideas and solutions
21. As a competent person who instructs, directs, and controls all team members in the performance of their duties the Assistant Operations Manager LEADS by example and communicates effectively with your team and the Management.
22. Other duties as assigned by the Management
