We are looking for an experienced Educator with a Level 1, 2 or 3 that enjoys working with preschool aged children (ages 3-4). Our ideal Educator will have a child like curiousity and engage deeply with the children as they discover their interests. They will have strong communication skills and enjoy working with families, and building connections within our strong team environment. They will also be problem solvers and look to work through any challenges that may be presented to them in a professional manner. They will be reliable and have a strong work ethic.
We offer a very unique program that is spread out over 7000 square feet. We have flex spaces that the different classrooms share which includes a 2250 square foot natural outdoor classroom with adjoining bike pad and green space, indoor gym, sensory room and maker station. We have a separate, spacious teacher lounge with attached kitchen so there is lots of room for programming, eating and relaxing during your time off the floor and during lunch breaks. We are also surrounded by many natural spaces, ponds and playgrounds within walking distance.
We have a fantastic team of dedicated Educators, plentiful resources (toys, loose parts, art supplies, wood materials, etc) and a great resource library. We do regular fundraisers that allow us to bring in many new high quality materials to be shared in the different rooms.
We overstaff our program so that there is always extra support for our teams. This allows us to be flexible in allowing for days off, covering off sick days, and giving our team the off floor time they need to do other tasks such as planning, learning stories, meetings with parents, professional development, etc.
We are located in Sherwood Park, Alberta (just a short drive from Edmonton and a couple turns off the Whitemud or Henday). While this may be a bit longer of a drive for some, we aim to make it worth it by giving you an impeccable working environment.
We offer a starting wage of $20.14 - $28.62 per hour depending on level, overall education and experience. This is including the wage top up. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package after 3 months (50/50 cost share), which includes an extra week of vacation and a health spending account after one year and RRSP matching after two years. Raises are offered throughout your journey with us, which are based on performance and professional development completed.
We offer optional team events throughout the year, which in the past, have included dinners together, weekend retreats, dinner theatre shows, team professional development days, wing nights and more!
We work hard to try and maintain a good work/life balance for our team. We have recently decided to close early (at 2pm) four times a year so the entire team can get things done together (staff meetings, room revamps, etc) and we are closed three full days per year for meetings, professional development, a team retreat and larger tasks that need to be completed (Educators are paid for those closure days if they attend). We still have some after hours events such as open houses and parent events, etc but this at least removes the need to have all of the team meetings after hours.
